Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India. The full quotation is “Most of us seldom take the trouble to think. It is a troublesome and fatiguing process and often leads to uncomfortable conclusions. But crises and deadlocks when they occur have at least this advantage, that they force us to think.” I do not agree with the second half of that statement, so I only used the first part and left it as a wry commentary on people and thinking. A politician might find crises and deadlocks useful, but in my opinion those occasions rarely produce the wisest thinking.
